Alicia Truelove, MSN, RN, CV-BC, NPD-BC, is a nationally recognized nursing leader and subject matter expert in rare disease. With nearly two decades of experience, she is dedicated to advancing nursing practice and advocating for equitable care—particularly for patients with rare and undiagnosed conditions. Alicia combines her clinical expertise with personal experience as a rare disease patient, offering a powerful dual perspective that informs her leadership. She serves as California State Ambassador for the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and actively contributes to global nursing initiatives through the Global Nursing Network for Rare and Undiagnosed Diseases (GNNRD) and Nurse Policy Entrepreneurship Cafe (NEPC). Her nursing leadership roles include serving on the board of directors with the American Nurses AssociationCalifornia (ANAC) and Co-Chair of the National Organization of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) Policy and Advocacy Committee. Committed to nurse-led advocacy and interdisciplinary collaboration, Alicia works to ensure nurses are equipped to recognize and support patients with rare conditions. Her guiding belief—#WeAreAllPatients—reflects her mission to center empathy, education, and equity in every aspect of nursing care.
