Jonas Center for Nursing to Hold Gala in NYC on March 18th

The Jonas Center of Nursing will hold a gala in New York City next week to recognize the Center’s achievements in nursing education over the past 10 years. The March 18th gala will celebrate the center’s achievements – bringing together stakeholders with a shared interest in helping to address the nation’s nursing faculty shortage.

Since early 2006, the Jonas Center has brought together foundations, universities, and organizations to raise nearly $25 million in grants for future nursing leaders. To date, 1,000 nurses pursuing PhDs and DNPs have received grants and a new cohort of 448 will begin this fall, representing 140 universities in all 50 states.

Recently, the Jonas Center announced a $11.1 million, 10-year grant to Columbia University’s nursing education through 2028. The Jonas Center will be housed at Columbia beginning in 2017 and will continue to provide grants to nursing leaders across the US.
