In a time when many nurses and allied health professionals report feeling unseen or undervalued, Medical Solutions is doing something rare in the staffing industry—putting appreciation into meaningful action. As part of its Weeks of Impact campaign, the healthcare staffing firm is giving clinicians the chance to win a life-changing prize: their choice of $60,000 in cash or a brand-new Ford Bronco. But according to Patti Artley, Chief Nursing Officer at Medical Solutions, the giveaway is about much more than a prize. It’s about sending a clear and heartfelt message: “We see you. We value you. You matter.”
“We were really driven by what we were hearing from clinicians,” says Artley. “Many feel overlooked or undervalued by their employers. So, we wanted to do something bold and meaningful to show just how much we appreciate them.”
Going Beyond the Basics
The giveaway, which runs during the campaign’s celebratory weeks in August and September, is already generating buzz among clinicians. According to Artley, the feedback has been “incredibly positive.”
“Clinicians are excited not just about the prizes, but about being part of something that celebrates them in a real way,” she says. “We’ve heard people say things like, ‘$60K would be lifechanging,’ and ‘It’s nice to know someone’s thinking about us.’ That kind of feedback is exactly why we launched this.”
But for Medical Solutions, appreciation doesn’t begin and end with a flashy giveaway.
“This is one part of a much larger strategy that centers around retention, recognition, and authentic support,” says Artley. “We’re investing in programs like preceptorships, peer support, and traveler rest stops to help clinicians thrive. Recognition should be year-round—not just during Nurses Week.”
Redefining What Appreciation Looks Like
In an industry where staff appreciation is often reduced to pizza parties or branded water bottles, Medical Solutions is taking a stand—and hoping others follow.
“We believe it has to go deeper,” says Artley. “It has to be consistent, meaningful, and tied to what clinicians actually need: support, flexibility, career growth, and genuine appreciation. We hope this effort inspires other leaders to think bigger.”
As a nurse herself, Artley understands that actions speak louder than words.
“Appreciation means creating systems that support clinicians’ well-being and growth,” she says. “It means celebrating their impact in specific, personal ways, and making them feel like an essential part of the team, not just a number on a schedule.”
A Nurse’s Perspective at the Helm
Artley’s own background in nursing directly informs her leadership and advocacy.
“I understand the emotional and physical toll this work takes. That perspective shapes everything we do,” she says. “I know what it felt like to be stretched thin, to feel unseen, and to need support. That’s what drives me to push for programs and policies that genuinely improve clinicians’ lives.”
That includes making the campaign as inclusive and rewarding as possible, with multiple prizes available.
“That’s why there are options and several prizes. It’s not just about one winner. It’s about recognizing and uplifting as many clinicians as we can.”
A Commitment That Doesn’t End with a Campaign
While the Weeks of Impact giveaway is turning heads, Artley says this is just one example of the company’s long-term vision.
“We’ll continue building programs focused on mental health, mentorship, work-life balance, and professional development,” she explains. “Our commitment is long-term. We’re always looking for ways to elevate the clinician experience and invest in their success.”
Her final message to nurses and allied health professionals?
“Thank you. Thank you for showing up, for caring, and for making a difference every single day. Your work matters more than words can express, and we see you. We’re committed to standing with you, not just in celebration, but in action. You deserve to be recognized, supported, and uplifted. Always.”
