Basic description
A simulation education director works in an academic setting and is responsible for managing daily simulation lab operations, designing and evaluating simulation cases based on educational principles, ensuring growth of the simulation program, updating programs/cases based on latest evidence, and conducting evaluation of the simulation program based on school and professional standard outcomes.
Educational requirements
Master’s degree or higher is required; experience as a nurse educator is highly preferred.
Core competencies/skills needed
â– Knowledge of budgeting and accounting, technology and simulation software, equipment being used, quality improvement, regulations, and regulatory guidelines (patient safety guidelines)
â– Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
â– Knowledge of adult learning principles
â– Strong clinical skills
