Why does Theresa Asai, BSN, RN, hematology nurse clinician and nurse coordinator for the Consultants in Hematology Clinic at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, have such a winning smile? Because the Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF) recently selected her as one of two recipients of its 2007 Nurse of the Year Awards, that’s why. Asai, who has been a nurse for 22 years, received more than 30 nominations for the award from patients, coworkers and colleagues.
